Fellowships

Dr. Asutosh Kar is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of ECE at Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar since January 2023. He is the recipient of the prestigious IIT Madras Pravartak Faculty Fellowship. Earlier he worked as an Assistant Professor (Grade-I) at IIITDM Kancheepuram, Chennai, for 4.8 years and; at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, India for close to 2 years.

He is the recipient of the prestigious Marie-Curie Post-Doctoral fellowship at the Department of Electronic Systems in Aalborg University, Denmark from 2015-17 for a period of 16 months. Dr. Asutosh Kar is also a visiting research scientist in ESAT lab at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering at Katholic University of Leuven, Belgium, KMITL Thailand, Univ. of Kragujevac Serbia, and the Dept. of Medical Physics and Acoustics at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. Dr. Kar’s research field includes the areas of signal processing, adaptive filters, machine learning, acoustics and audio signal analysis, and hearing-aid system designs.

Dr. Kar has implemented several industry-sponsored projects for Samsung Electronics, Ventech Solutions USA, Titan R&D, and Oretes Consulting respectively. Now Dr. Kar is working on the India-Korea bilateral project and India-Serbia bilateral, sponsored by the DST. He has more than 100 research papers in reputed journals and conferences at the international level. He is an associate editor of Circuit Systems and Signal Processing, Springer, and a Senior Member of IEEE.
